The Beginning and Beyond

Have you guys ever wondered how our beloved Rotaract Club came into existence?

This week, let's rewind the clock and explore the remarkable journey that led to the formation of our club. It all started back in 2018 when the seed of the idea was planted by a former president of our sponsor club, Rtn. Lata Pillai Maam.

However, despite the initial excitement, progress came to a halt. It wasn't until Rtr. Tanvi Shete returned from her Rotary International Exchange Program in France and things began to take shape.

Tanvi, inspired by her experiences abroad, imagined a Rotex club designed specifically for international exchange students. After discussions with Rotary members, the decision was made to establish a Rotaract club. And so, in December 2019, the journey of documentation began.

With the support of 20 enthusiastic members, who were children of members from the sponsor club, our club officially came into being. January 1st, 2020, marked our charter day— an important moment in our journey.

Fast forward six months, and our club's first installation ceremony took place online on July 9th, 2020. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, our members adapted to the new normal, holding events and meetings virtually.

During these hard times, our club stood tall, focusing our efforts towards community service, and raising donations for Trimbak Aadivasi Pada. We held seminars and collaborated on projects. We also provided food donations and organized events like the interbrain debate competition, "Blind Date with Books," showing our commitment to service and making a difference.

Starting a club is one thing, but sustaining it is a whole different ball game. It's a journey filled with challenges, requiring dedication and hard work. Our charter members have played a key role in shaping our club's success, making sure we're in the position we are today.

We are proud to say that our club has earned a reputation as one of the best in town. This achievement reflects the combined effort of our leaders, both past and present, who have worked tirelessly to bring our club to where it is today.

Let us remember that our story is not just about the beginning, but about the journey beyond.

It's been four years since we started amidst the pandemic, and we've not only survived but thrived in such challenging times. As we embark on our fifth tenure, we do so with confidence, knowing that we have the resilience and determination to continue making a positive impact in our community. Let's march forward, united in our mission, as we strengthen our Rotaract Club and the ties that bind us.

Reflecting on our journey, we treasure the memories we've created, the obstacles we've overcome, and the connections we've forged. Together, we'll keep building the story of our Rotaract Club—a narrative of dedication, determination, and a steadfast commitment to serving others.
